Upcoming Crash Course
SwingCville’s Crash Course dates back to 2009. This two-hour beginner workshop starts from the ground up, with the most basic movements and concepts. No prior dance experience is required. It’s the best way to put you on the fast-track to having fun with swing dance!
This class is excellent for first-timers as well as the more experienced dancers who are looking to refresh themselves in the basics and foundations.
Brand New to Dancing?
If you have no dance experience at all, we recommend the following schedule to help get you on the floor in no time:
- Make the Crash Course your first lesson!
- Come to the “Beginner’s Corner” lessons at Cat’s Corner for that month
- Come to Cville Savoy to experience a social dance
- Rinse & Repeat
What Should I Bring?
Wear comfortable, flat-soled shoes. You do not need to go out and purchase new dance shoes, but we do recommend that beginners stay away from high-heels or shoes with a lot of tread.
We provide snacks & water at all dance events, so no worries about bringing those things.
Attendance Policy: No one will be admitted to class after the first 10 minutes, so please try to be on time.
Aerial Policy: Lifts, drops, and aerials are not permitted at SwingCville unless it is part of a performance or jam with a partner with whom you have practiced. Failure to adhere to this rule could result in being banned.
Payment: We accept cash, check, or credit cards.
